Testosterone naturally shifts over a man’s lifetime. For some men, lower levels may be associated with changes they notice day to day.

Signs commonly associated with low testosterone

  • Persistent fatigue or low energy
  • Reduced sex drive
  • Changes in mood, focus or motivation
  • Loss of muscle or increased body fat
  • Poorer sleep quality

Important

These signs can have many causes — sleep, stress, nutrition, medications, thyroid function and more. Experiencing them does not mean you need testosterone therapy.
